Knowing that the team is knowledgeable enough and capable of doing this, setting it up for multi-job weapons that don't have a base class would be a good step. In HW they also started tying weapons to job crystals since there's no base class for them, so if you equip a weapon your job crystal gets auto equipped. If you try to equip a weapon for a class you don't have unlocked it tells you that, so they have some kind of checks built for that. If you try to equip a job crystal when you're not on its corresponding class, it tells you to get on that class first. "On a class? Is the class you're on one that can equip the item? On a job? Is the job you're on one that can equip the item?" To test some things out I just messed around a bit in game and they have a ton of checks and errors. So it seems like they're already capable of implementing some kind of multi-check system.
